Do You Feel Like You Are Fighting An Impossible Battle?

Trying to lose weight can be an extremely frustrating endeavor. For many people, it has become, at least in their mind, an “impossible battle”. They lose 5 pounds, then gain 6. Lose 15 pounds, then gain 12 of it back. They yo-yo back and forth.
Challenges are everywhere. People at work bring in donuts, cookies and other snacks. We are constantly in a hurry, so we grab whatever is quick and convenient to eat or hit the nearest fast food drive-through.
We plan on exercising, but things come up. Family members or friends need us. Something at work needs to be taken care of.
So how can you win this battle? What will give you the best possible chance of success?
Create a team to help you succeed!
As humans, we are much stronger in a group focused on a common goal. Surround yourself with people who are working towards a similar goal as you are and people with the knowledge and experience to point you on the right path.
Start a group with co-workers, friends or family members and meet a couple of times each week to do something active and discuss your progress and goals. Keep each other accountable. Share your challenges and your victories.
If you need to, check out our programs at Custom Fit. We provide a nutritional counselor, a private fitness coach, and a fantastic team of fitness professionals to support you.
If you have questions about how to structure a fitness or weight loss program, or challenges you are having, Custom Fit’s Lead Trainer Eric Patterson and I will be hosting a Q&A Session at Cafe 111 Wed. May 5th at 6pm. Seating is limited so RSVP by calling 812.437.2378 or via email to tmaslan@cfpt.us
Remember, don’t try to fight this battle all alone! There is strength in numbers! Give yourself the best chance for long-term fitness and weight loss success!

Are you a doer?

“The few who do are the envy of the many who only watch and want.”
-Jim Rohn
I have a question for you. Are you a doer? Are you the type of person who sets a goal, develops a plan to reach that goal, and the actually FOLLOWS THE PLAN? Or are you the type of person who wishes you could lose weight, or wishes you could be in better shape, or wishes you could be stronger, but never really gets around to actually doing something to accomplish that goal?
The world is full of people who talk about accomplishing something. Who wish they could accomplish something. Who are jealous of those who do accomplish those things.
One of my least favorite things to hear someone say is, “It must be nice to…….” whatever.
“It must be nice to be in shape.”
“It must be nice to be strong.”
“It must be nice to have money.”
Whatever.
I have met very few people who got something for nothing. I know a lot of people who are in great shape and are very strong. They all have worked very hard to get that way and continue to work hard to stay that way and improve. There are very few lottery winners out there. Most people who have achieved financial success have done so because they were willing to work very hard, to learn as much as they can, to take take risks others are unwilling to take.
Now with the internet, more information is available at our fingertips than ever before. There are tips and programs available for practically anything you could possibly want to achieve. There is no excuse to not at least have a basic plan on how you want to accomplish your goal, whatever it may be.
The question is, what are you going to do about it?
Another quote I like is:
“After all is said and done, more is usually said than done.”
My challenge to you today is BE A DOER! Stop talking and wishing about what you want to accomplish and TAKE ACTION!
If your goals are in the areas of fitness and weight loss and you need help developing a plan to take action on, let me know. I would be glad to help.
Now, get out there and MAKE IT HAPPEN! YOU CAN DO IT!!!

I hope you are having a great day. I wanted to take a few minutes to share a video brought to my attention by a good friend. Will Smith has some great things to say in these clips.
Pay close attention to what he says about the treadmill just before the 3 minutes mark.
Watch this and share your thoughts.
